Most normal sources of damage hurt werewolves, though they are incredibly good at healing. In their breed form, they do not heal as well as they do in their other forms, leaving them vulnerable to normal bullets and similar sources of damage. These things can also kill them, if they're unable to react quickly enough.
Garou have more trouble healing damage from certain sources, though. Fire, toxic waste, the claws and fangs of other supernatural creatures and silver all cause damage that is very difficult for the Garou to heal.
Garou who come into direct contact with silver take damage from it in the form of blisters, burning and searing pain. Homid and lupus garou in their breed forms are exempt from this, while metis are vulnerable to silver's touch in every form. Carrying silver also causes the garou to lose some of their effective gnosis for every item carried. This does include items such as klaives. Brandishing a silver weapon is tantamount to a death threat to the Garou, and is reacted to accordingly.
